PROCONSULT LIMITED is a wholly Ghanaian-owned civil engineering consultancy firm incorporated on February 28, 1996 and given a Certificate to commence business on February 29, 1996.
The Firm’s offices are located at H/No. 703, Accra New Town Road, Kokomlemle, Accra.
The main areas of activity of the firm are in building civil and structural design, construction supervision and management.
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE OF FIRM:
PROCONSULT LIMITED has for the past six (6) years undertaken the planning design and construction supervision of four (4) construction Camps for Messrs Kajima-Shimuzu J/V, a Japanese construction Company engaged on the rehabilitation of major trunk roads in Ghana. These camps have been established at Pwalugu, near Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region, (Rehabilitation of Tamale-Paga Road Project), Dawhenya (Tema-Sogakope Road Project, Winneba (Kasoa-Yamoransa Road Project and Kotwi near Kumasi (Santase-Anwiakwanta Road Project).
The camps comprised permanent buildings which served as Residences, Canteen, Laboratories and Offices. Basic infrastructural facilities such as internal roads, drains, walkways and electrical power (from Generating Sets) were provided for these camps. Boreholes were developed to serve as water sources as well as plumbing installations and overhead water tanks to serve the compounds. Sanitation facilities were also provided.
These camps served a population of sixty (60) and after completion of road contracts were handed over to some security agencies in the country for use as Training Institution.
Over the past six years, Proconsult Limited has undertaken the construction supervision of seventeen (17) composite steel bridges under the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JMCA) and the Danish Steel Bridges Projects in Ghana.
In the latter two of the six years referred to above, Proconsult has undertaken the design of ten (10No) composite steel bridges with associated approach roads. The design covered Topographic and Geotechnical Surveys, Hydrology/Hydraulics, structural calculations and production of Working Drawings.
PROCONSULT LIMITED in association with its sister Firm – HERMECON LIMITED (a civil engineering construction firm incorporated in 1984) – undertaken civil works on Design and Build bases for the United States Government on its Humanitarian Assistance Programmes in Ghana.
Since engaging our services in the past three years, two assignments with a total sum of approximately US$366,000.00 have been satisfactorily executed.
Another area of the firm’s strength lies in the professional staff. Individually each has undertaken, either in design or supervision, a number of significant public and private buildings and civil engineering works as detailed in the respective curriculum vitae included in this submission.
ASSOCIATION WITH OTHER FIRMS:
PROCONSULT LIMITED has since its inception undertaken a number of technical feasibility studies for trunk road development in Ghana. The firm has had associations with the following firms:
- Katahira & Engineers International of Japan in the engineering feasibility studies for the construction bridges in the Northern, Upper East, Upper West, Volta and Western Regions of Ghana.
- The firm has since then undertaken the design and construction supervision of a number of these bridges (1998 - to-date).
- Kajima-Shimizu J/V on the construction of the 120 metre bridge span bridge at Beposo in the Western Region.
The firm is able to undertake projects on turnkey basis.
